The kimono tailor working under the artist name Mitsuhirō Natsui, was born as Holger Sommer and started his career as a trained master tailor and haute-couturier for women and men.
Through his years of continuous study of an ancient samurai school of warfare, philosophy and etiquette, called Hokushin Ittō-ryū Hyōhō, he came in contact with men’s kimono and kitsuke, the art of traditional dressing.
His fascination with the Japanese fabrics, the colors and the depth of the different clothings led him to study throughly how to traditionally tailor kimono.
After the first requests for tailor made and customized kimono came from Japan and Europe, his passion developed into a business.
The Natsuiya now professionally manufactures kimono, haori, hakama and traditional kimono related accessories for men all around the world.
